‘Accept free movement or NO deal!’ Portuguese MEP rails against British Brexit demands
THE vice chairman of the European Parliament’s biggest party told Theresa May Brussels will only agree to a deal if the UK accepts free movement.

Paulo Rangel, of the European People’s Party, claimed while Brexit is “sad news” for the European Union its leaders must not give up their “fundamental principles” while negotiating Britain’s future relationship.
European leaders’ biggest fear is Britain is offered a trade deal which offers them a “free ride” on the single market while using its new-found freedom to undercut the EU in global markets.
Donald Tusk has set out the EU’s draft negotiation position, making clear Britain must deal with its divorce from Europe before trade talks begin.
The European Council chief’s nine-page document states there must be “sufficient progress” on withdrawal talks – including a “divorce bill” muted to be as high as £50 billion – before future relationships are discussed.
