Chinese defence manufacturers have created the powerful James Bond-esque laceration machine in a bid to counter threats.
Rhetoric in Asia has been hostile with North Korean military action and operations in the South China Sea.
Now China is unveiling its fire power as it develops weapons on par with its western allies.
The searing material used in the laser weapons is made from minerals in the Earth.
And the new weapons unveiled in Abu Dhabi are alleged to be more powerful than those contained on the USS Ponce, an Austin-class amphibious transport dock of the United States Navy.
The mobile Chinese laser vehicle carrying the new weapon looks similar to a tank.
