Seven cops have been charged with wire fraud, robbery, conspiracy, and extortion by a state or government employee
They worked on the Gun Trace Taskforce together from 2015-2016 although some alleged crimes occurred before they were on the team
The cops allegedly stole drugs, money and property including $200,000 in cash from a safe they opened at a search location
Wiretaps and bugs also caught them planning robberies based on informants’ testimonies and rehearsing alibies, officials say
And they’re accused of putting in false overtime reports, making as much as $8,000-10,000 extra each month
Arrests come after an FBI investigation that was so secret they didn’t even notify the State Attorney’s Office
All men are suspended without pay and could face up to 20 years in prison if found guilty
In a separate case, one of the detectives has also been arrested for allegedly conspiring to sell heroin with five civilians

Seven Baltimore cops have been arrested on charges ranging from wire fraud to stealing $200,000 in cash after a secret federal investigation.

Those officers are Wayne Earl Jenkins, Momodu Bondeva Kenton Gondo – aka ‘GMoney’ and ‘Mike,’ Evodio Calles Hendrix, Maurice Kilpatrick Ward, Jemell Lamar Rayam, Daniel Thomas Hersl and Marcus Roosevelt Taylor.

The officers were ‘in a pernicious conspiracy scheme that involved abuse of powers,’ US Attorney Ron Rosenstein said Wednesday.
He added that ‘These were simply robberies by people who were wearing police uniforms.’
