MIGRANT benefits will be axed for new arrivals while workers in key economic sectors will receive multi-year work permits, rumours from Theresa May’s post-Brexit visa plan suggest.

The Prime Minister ordered Ministers to draw up visa plans for European migrants already in the UK and separate arrangements for those who arrive later, it was reported.
Under one model put forward by senior Cabinet ministers, EU migrants will reportedly receive five-year work visas but will be banned from claiming in-work benefits during the duration of their stay.
And the Government is also reportedly considering taking the political edge off the topic of immigration by setting up an independent body to determine how many visas should be issued.
But former Prime Minister David Cameron’s pledge to reduce immigration to the “tens of thousands” is still a major goal, according to reports.
An insider told the Sunday Times: “The plan is to stick to the tens of thousands pledge into the next Parliament but set out a pathway in which we can get it down by training British workers.
