The 48-year-old victim sustained severe injuries after being attacked with “massive force” on February 9.

The suspect has been named by the National Criminal Police Office as Libyan national Fatah Chinan.

Berlin police have released a video recording of the suspect from inside a pub, where he can be seen holding his jacket in his hands.

The latest attack comes amid a backlash to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open border policy.

The change in public opinion was sparked by the Cologne New Year sex attacks.

Some 1,310 individuals said they were victims of crime in Cologne city centre on New Year Eve’s as Germany welcomed in 2016.

Six hundred and sixty two people also claimed they had been sexually assaulted and 28 saying they had been raped.

Migrant-on-migrant crime has also become a major cause for concern for the German government.
