The 45-year-old Polish-born politician, who is currently a member of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee and has sat as a member of both the International Development Select Committee and the Justice Select Committee, told of his fears over rising political tensions.
In an interview where to described his post-Brexit foreign policy vision, the MP also told how Britain would be well served by establishing keen relations with Vladimir Putin and openly criticised Barack Obama for allying himself with Angela Merkel and wilfully ignoring the historic “special relationship”.
Mr Kawczynski believes Theresa May is right to court Donald Trump and has commended the Prime Minister on her commitment to not adopt a Blairite approach of becoming the world’s policeman and embroiling Britain in a sting of disastrous foreign wars.
The Shrewsbury and Atcham MP, who was in Tunis at the time of the Arab Spring, said: “While we have our differences with Russia over Crimea, for example, we ought to be able to cooperate with them on other issues such as Syria.
