EU PANIC: Brussels bigwig FEARS Trump is ‘openly bidding’ to DESTROY the bloc
EUROPEAN UNION bosses are petrified that Donald Trump is “openly bidding” to destroy the bloc, according to one of Brussels top Brexit negotiators.

Guy Verhofstadt, the European Parliament’s chief Brexit negotiator, has spoken at length about his unwavering support for the political project has repeatedly slammed Britain for its decision to leave the bloc after last June’s historic referendum.
Amid growing fears that far-right movements in France, Germany and Holland could force their own referendums, Mr Verhofstadt hit back at President Trump for trying to encourage such a move.
He told ITN: “Trump was openly bidding of a disintegration of the European Union.
“Openly saying, Brexit is not the last one – other countries will follow and that is absolutely not in your interest or not in the American interest.
“How can America become great again with a weak, disintegrating European ally. That is not possible, you always need two legs to walk, and that is also the case for President Trump.
“He needs an American leg but he also needs a European leg, a European ally. I am pleased that the bust of Winston Churchill is again in the Oval Office because maybe Churchill can whisper in the ear of President Trump that he thinks a strong Europe is absolutely key.”
During a joint press conference during Theresa May’s visit to the White House, President Trump attacked the EU, accusing the bloc of being a slow-moving and over-bureaucratic body that stifles trade.
The America said Brexit was a “sign of things to come” and “Brexit is going to be a wonderful thing for Britain”.
He added: “You will have your own identity and you will be able to negotiate your own trade deals. Getting approvals from the group of European nations the consortium as I called it, was very, very tough.”
