BRITISH spies will “hold back” sensitive information from Donald Trump until they can be sure he is trustworthy, an intelligence source has claimed.

Mr Trump, who will take the oath of office later this week, has already been blasted by security services in the States as “a hostile actor” who is “very possibly compromised by Russia”.
But British agencies are also believed to have questioned the President-elect’s loyalty, and are allegedly expected to retain information until they can be sure he is trustworthy.
A UK intelligence operative said: “Until we have established whether Trump and senior members of his team can be trusted, we’re going to hold back.
“Putting it bluntly, we can’t risk betraying sources and methods to the Russians.”
It comes as Russian influence disrupts the diplomatic world order, with warming US-Russian relations threatening to leave the UK out in the cold.
Foreign minister Boris Johnson had a difficult first meeting with the President-elect’s senior advisors Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner last week, after his warnings of Russia’s “dirty tricks” were met with a frosty reception.
