RUSSIA FACE-OFF: US deploys MORE troops to Poland to defend NATO borders

THOUSANDS of US troops arrived in Poland today to defend NATO borders amid growing aggression from Russia.

The soldiers were deployed under a planned NATO operation to reassure the alliance’s Eastern European allies following mounting Russian aggression.

Around 4,500 American soldiers landed in Wrocław, home to Polish air base in the south-west of the country.

And they have been followed by around 2,800 tanks and other pieces of military equipment, which have been transported by land from Germany.

The deployment is being hailed at the largest movement of an armed US military brigade to Europe since the end of the Cold War.
