Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said he will visit Donald Trump and has ‘no worries’ about the Republican’s election as US president and expects the businessman will align his policies with global realities.

A visit from the Dalai Lama would infuriate Beijing which views the Nobel Peace Prize-winning monk as a dangerous separatist.

‘I think there are some problems to go to United States, so I will go to see the new president,’ he told reporters, without elaborating.

Commenting at the conclusion of a four-day visit to Mongolia on Wednesday, the leader of Tibetan Buddhism says he looks forward to seeing Trump at some point following the January 20 inauguration.

It was not immediately clear if a meeting between the two has been planned. Such meetings usually draw China’s ire.
