Hundreds of Chicago O’Hare International Airport workers have voted to go on strike ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

About 500 employees have committed to strike, union officials said Thursday. The union hasn’t specified which day the strike will start, but union spokeswoman Izabela Miltko-Ivkovich said it ‘will definitely take place in the coming days’.

It wasn’t immediately clear how such a strike would affect operations at O’Hare, which is one of the nation’s busiest airports.

Union and aviation officials do not anticipate major disruptions in service so far – although the effect of the strike will also depend on how many employees are willing to cross the picket line.
