‘It’s run into the sand!’ Ukip MEP calls for break-up of the EU’s great federalist project
THE European Union has had its day and will soon collapse because the great federalist project has “run into the sand”, a Ukip MEP has claimed.

Speaking on BBC Two’s Daily Politics on Thursday, Patrick O’Flynn, suggested the end was in sight for the European bloc with Eurocrats losing “popular support”.
When asked if he wanted to see the break of the EU, the East of England MEP said: “I don’t take a Govian position in that I think it’s up to the nation states and populations of Europe what they do [but] I want to see Britain restored as a self-governing democracy.
“If that’s what their people decide to do then of course.”
He added: “I do think the political class across Europe, the elite, pushing this federalist project – it’s run into the sand – the popular support isn’t there and that’s a problem.”
