Putin ordered Russia to scrub its signature from the founding documents of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The Russian supremo ordered his ambassadors to notify the UN he refused to be subject to its laws and decrees policing war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.
The symbolic act stirs fears Putin has been emboldened by the presidential election victory of his pal Donald Trump – striking up renewed friendly relations between the US and Russia.
But their friendship leaves Putin free to aggressively move into the Baltic – as NATO admitted they were planning for the “worst case scenario”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said: “The International Criminal Court has not justified hopes placed upon it and did not become a truly independent and authoritative judicial body.”
The statement claimed Russia “consistently advocates that people guilty of grave offences must be held accountable” despot the nation”s withdrawal.
It also boasted of the nation”s involvement in developing the foundations of international law.
The US is not a member of the ICC – but Britain and most other NATO powers are fully ratified participants.
British war chiefs pledged the UK would be ready for war with Russia within two years amid fears of Putin”s rising Russia.
Poland has deployed a new 53,000-strong army to defend against an invasion from Russia.
