Jeb Bush and Ohio governor John Kasich also passed on their well wishes
President-elect also fumed at The New York Times for its coverage of him
He said the publication had lost ‘thousands’ of readers with its ‘bad’ reports
The newspaper led coverage of some of Trump’s most plaguing scandals
On Friday it vowed to ‘rededicate’ itself to honest journalism after ‘turning on a dime’ when the election result emerged
Former staff and critics said the paper was ‘blindsided’ by Trump’s win

Donald Trump fired off against two of his enemies on Sunday in one of his trademark Twitter sprees – hours after vowing to be ‘more restrained’ on social media.

The President-elect mocked Mitt Romney, one of his most outspoken Republican critics, and his sworn foe The New York Times in three tweets published in 30 minutes.

‘Mitt Romney called to congratulate me on the win. Very nice!’ he wrote.

Minutes earlier, he launched another attack on his old foe The New York Times, claiming it has lost ‘thousands of subscribers’ since his election victory.
