Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been warned armed militias have advanced over the military control line which marks the border of the Indian and Pakistani disputed region of Kashmir.

According to local reports Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval informed Mr Modi of the breach last night, a week after “surgical strikes” were waged.

Intelligence agencies are warning terrorists plan to launch violent attacks in the Kashmir Valley, which saw nearly 90 people killed and at least 10,000 injured in July, following the killing of a terror suspect.

Rhetoric between the nuclear armed nations has become tense following an assault on an Indian army installation in September that killed 18 soldiers.

India blamed Pakistan for the attack, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi said wouldn’t go “unpunished.”

Then Pakistani defence minister Khawaja Asif chimed into the debate saying: “We will destroy India if it dares to impose war on us.

“Pakistan army is fully prepared to answer any misadventure of India.

“We have not made atomic device to display in a showcase.
