GERMAN Chancellor Angela Merkel has been put under more pressure after the leader of her sister party refused to endorse her for another term.

Horst Seehofer, the chairman of the CSU party, which shares power in Germany along with Mrs Merkel’s CDU party, said it was “stupid” to discuss another term now, amid growing anger of her rule among the population.
He said both parties should wait until closer to next year’s election before deciding who should represent the alliance.
Mr Seehofer said: “I think this is a really stupid discussion. That’s all cheese and baloney.”
The President of Bavaria added only “Mickey Mouse” and “ordinary sailors” would discuss Mrs Merkel’s future with confidence at the current time, but warned: “No one can remain at the mercy of someone else”.
