Nearly half of all refugees admitted to the U.S. this year were Muslim

The uptick is due to an influx of refugees from the Middle East and Africa
Of refugees who have moved to the U.S. since 2002, Christians remain the dominant religious group

Muslims make up the largest religious group entering the U.S. as refugees this year, a new Pew Research survey reveals.

According to data from the State Department’s Refugee Processing Center, 28,957 refugees that have been admitted to the country since October 1, 2015 identity as Muslim.

That’s 46 per cent of the total 63,000 refugees this past year and the largest of any religious group.
Christians are the second largest refugee group, with a marginally less 27, 556 refugee believers.
