BRUSSELS was thrown into crisis as Hilary Clinton strongly hinted she would kill off a proposed trade deal with the European Union if she becomes the next US President.

In a strongly worded statement the Democrat front-runner said she would “stop” any agreement that jeopardised American jobs, throwing the entire decades-long negotiation into chaos.
Pitching to disaffected Bernie Sanders supporters she said free trade deals had been damaging to ordinary US workers in a speech marking a significant policy shift from Barack Obama.
The incumbent US President, who will be succeeded by either Mrs Clinton or Donald Trump in November, has been a major cheerleader for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
In a speech to supporters in Michigan, which has been hit hard by the decline in traditional American industries like car manufacturing, Mrs Clinton signalled an end to America’s unconditional support for global free trade.
