BELLIGERENT Russian diplomats have told US officials to mind their own business amid an escalating crisis in Crimea, with experts warning that a full-blown conflict looks increasingly likely.

Mikhail Ulyanov, the head of the foreign ministry’s department for security and disarmament, insisted Russia had the right to move its troops anywhere on its territory including the annexed Crimean peninsula.
He said: “In reality, Russia has the right to base the movement of military forces and weapons on its territory on its own independent decisions.”
Fears are growing that Russia may be planning to ramp up fighting in the war between Kiev and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, after Moscow accused Kiev this week of trying to provoke a conflict over Crimea.
America has responded to the heightened tensions by saying it was was extremely concerned and called on both sides to reduce the aggressive rhetoric.
But Mr Ulyanov hit back, telling Washington its interventions in the dispute were not welcome.
