Armenia ‘attempted coup’: Gunmen storm police HQ in country bordering Turkey
A GROUP of gunmen have stormed Armenia’s police headquarters and taken the chief of police hostage in what is reportedly an attempted coup.

One police officer has been killed and two more injured in the seige, Armenia’s National Security Service has said.
Snipers are said to be surrounding the police HQ in the capital of Yerevan after a gang of armed men invaded the building.
The country’s police chief Valery Osipyan is believed to have been taken hostage.
The internet in the country is also currently down.
One person is said to have been killed in the fighting, Armenia media reported.
The seige comes days after a failed coup in neighbouring Turkey by a faction of Turkish military, in which 265 people were killed and about 1,500 injured.
