Compassion, love and strong leadership are needed to unite a divided United States after the deadly shooting in Dallas, Texas that killed five officers, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said in a statement on Friday

.WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Five Dallas police officers were shot and killed at a protest in the city that took place following the death of two black men who were killed by police in separate incidents in Louisiana and Minnesota.
“This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion,” Trump stated in the statement.

Trump noted in the statement that the United States has went too far on a course of division among its citizens.

“Our nation has become too divided. “Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better,” he said.
