SEVEN days ago the British public sparked a political earthquake by voting to leave the EU, with the aftershocks continuing to be felt.

The last week of June this year is likely to go down in history as one of the most dramatic ever seen in Westminster – and Europe – with the fallout from last Friday’s Brexit vote still yet to settle.

Friday 24 June – Brexit day one

4.00am – Following stunning wins for Leave in areas such as Sunderland and Sheffield along with surprise support for Brexit across Wales, Ukip leader Nigel Farage declared victory in the EU referendum.

At a results night party, the life-long anti-EU campaigner said: “The dawn is breaking on a independent UK.

“If the predictions are right this will be a victory for the real people, for the ordinary people, and for the decent people.”
