Anti-terrorism law forces were slammed today after a database containing crucial intelligence information on thousands of suspects was leaked online.

The details of over two million criminal suspects, including individuals linked to terrorism, were published following a breach of the World-Check database, which acts as “an early warning system for hidden risk”.

Run by Thomson Reuters, World-Check is used to keep tabs on suspect individuals around the world, which as well as terrorism also includes those linked to other crimes such as organised crime and corruption.

It is used by more than 300 government and intelligence agencies, as well as 4,500 other institutions around the world, including 49 of the world’s 50 biggest banks.
