Seismologists have been monitoring Mount Bulusan near Manila in the Philippines after it belched ash 1.2miles into the sky after 113 small earthquakes were recorded around it since Friday.
People in surrounding villages were warned they could be hurt by hot by ash fall, but no evacuation order is currently in place, apart from a 4km exclusion zone for people and air traffic which was already in force.
Almost 19,000 people across 19 villages are said to have been affected by ash, and urged to remain in their homes.
The Ring of Fire is the most seismically-active place on earth and has been experiencing a high number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions since the spring.
