Migrant crisis WILL get worse warns Europe’s police chief as 800,000 line up to flee Libya

THE migrant crisis will get worse with more than 800,000 queuing up to get into the European Union (EU) from Libya alone, warn police chiefs.

Criminal human trafficking gangs are raking in around £4 billion a year charging migrants thousands of pounds a time to be smuggled into Europe by boat, trains, road and air.

Now a joint report by Europol (European police force) and Interpol (international police force) called Migrant Smuggling Networks has revealed that the situation will worsen.

Police chiefs say people smugglers are finding new ways to get around the borders put up by desperate countries such as Slovakia and Austria which have struggled to cope with the influx.

The report said that while the majority of migrants are travelling on false documents and are ferried about by land and boat, others are transported on planes using fake passports.
