US President Barack Obama has said he plans to send 250 more troops to Syria including Special Forces to conduct military training of fighters of the Democratic Forces of Syria. Tackir Kobani, the representative of the Syrian Democratic Forces, spoke to Sputnik about this announcement.

“Additional 250 US army personnel will soon arrive in Syria to provide military support and training to fighters of the Democratic Forces of Syria. US soldiers will conduct briefings and training sessions on the use of heavy weapons. They will not directly participate in the war activities.”

“Meanwhile, some US troops are currently fighting Daesh militants in the war zone. An additional contingent will arrive in Syria with weapons. Part of the troops will be placed at a US military base in the area of the reservoir Tışrin in the south of Kobani, while another part of the contingent will be located on the territory of another US base, which is located in the village area of Gerebışk,” Tackir said.
