Magnitude 5.9 Earthquake Rattles Mexico

An earthquake rattles southern Mexico at 3:07 AM eastern US time today. The US Geological Survey reports the quake was offshore, in the Pacific Ocean, near the Mexico – Guatemala border. No tsunami alert has been issued.
This is another, in a continuing barrage of Pacific Tectonic Plate earthquakes, which began about two weeks ago; that have wrecked several major areas around the world, but have not (yet) struck the US West Coast. The map below shows the historic quake activity for the last month or so, with massive jolts on virtually every continent EXCEPT North America. Is a big one coming?
