The country’s Health Minister, Maggie De Block, broke the news of the deaths via Twitter as four people died overnight from their injuries.
A post read: “Four patients deceased in hospital. Medical teams did all possible. Total victims: 35. Courage to all the families.”
Belgium’s crisis centre also confirmed the death toll had risen to 35.
The three suicide bombers also died in the attacks. The death toll does not include them.
The explosion at Zaventem airport killed 15 people, of which six were Belgium and the remainder foreign nationals.
