Global warming is a seriously hot topic; every day there’s a new report claiming that humans are to blame for climate change. According to the NOAA in their latest press briefing, levels of carbon dioxide are to blame for the “hottest year ever,” as reported by Real Climate Science. Yet, a closer look at the NOAA’s own data shows that in reality, there has been no warming for the last 58 years.

In their press briefing, the NOAA included a graph of the last 37 years – but stated that they have a 58-year-long temperature record, their “evidence” of global warming. However, the earlier data that they conveniently missed off the graph shows as much pre-1979 cooling as post-1979 warming, according to Real Climate Science. In fact, it seems that the earth’s atmosphere has not warmed at all since the late 1950s.

So, the NOAA’s own data actually shows that there has been no warming for the last 58 years, but they have tried to cover that up by only showing part of the graph.
