The hermit state’s military chiefs have declared that it will “liberate the whole of South Korea including Seoul” with an “ultra-precision blitzkrieg”, after the US and South Korea carried out their annual joint-operations this week.
But despite the bluster, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has been left red-faced after his army managed to lose track of a 21-metre submarine, according to US defence sources.
The ‘midget’ sub is diesel powered and is believed to have been carrying a crew of two when it went missing. North Korea has not requested any assistance in locating the vessel.
Despite the blunder, the state has continued to ignite fears of WW3 by rapidly escalating its military activity, despite repeated condemnation from the West.
On Thursday, the state fired ballistic missiles into the sea in a show of defiance against new sanctions imposed by Seoul.
North Korea has also threatened to “liquidate” all assets at shared cross-border facilities, threatening years of progress between the two warring states.
