North Korea is mad at us, the Iran nuclear deal might go sour, new diseases pop up every day, not to mention old ones like Ebola, there’s a megadrought in California, and honey bees are dying by the tens of thousands.
So when the apocalypse finally does happen, and it will (sooner rather then later) how will society survive and what will it look like?
Once we start getting down to the end times, that’s when things will get interesting. People know it’s coming. The smart ones will be preparing for it, not the end, but the time before it. Probably around 20 years left or so, society will stop functioning. There’s no point to working anymore, etc. People start thinking only about themselves. This means you can’t go buy a hot dog when you’re hungry anymore. Still, there will be some form of capitalism alive and well because people won’t all have what they need to do the things they want to do until the end finally comes. So, some people will continue working and currency will probably still exist.
Once we get down to a year, then it’s just about waiting. People in that last year won’t do anything that they don’t want to. Their only concern will be enjoying what they have left. Unfortunately, this might mean killing, looting, rioting, raping, etc. So, things will get pretty insane.
