Malaysia has been on high alert since twisted Daesh militants launched a bomb and gun attack in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta in January, leaving seven people dead.
The prime minister of Malaysia last month declared that the twisted terrorists now pose a “very real” threat to his country after the group issued a fresh warning detailing how the Muslim-majority nation was now on their hit-list.
Malaysia had also arrested a suspected militant who confessed to be planning an attack in the country.
But now Australia has issued its own warning the the Asian nation as it recommended Australians avoid travel to the coastal region of eastern Sabah, where the beaches and islands are popular with foreign tourists and diving enthusiasts.
It comes just days after the British Government warned its own citizens against “all but essential” travel to key tourist destinations in Malaysia.
