Ted Koppel’s ‘Lights Out’ book unveils America’s shocking lack of preparedness against cyber attacks on the power grid

Hackers recently took down a Ukrainian regional power grid, proving that power providers are vulnerable to remote hack attacks.

I’ve been warning about this possibility for years, repeatedly warning about a “grid down” scenario that plunges U.S. cities into total chaos. (Imagine nearly 50 million people not getting their electronic food stamps and you get the idea…)

A few months ago, Ted Koppel released a book called “Lights Out.” It covers the risks associated with America’s power grid vulnerabilities to cyber attacks launched by enemy nations.

Throughout the book, Koppel reveals that the U.S. government is wildly unprepared and has no realistic plan in place to deal with such an event. FEMA has virtually no food stored for the American people, for example, and evacuating large cities like New York is logistically impossible.
