The United States is interested in prolonging the Syrian crisis, said Ryan Dawson, geopolitical analyst and human rights activist.

He criticized the recent ceasefire between the government and certain terrorist groups, saying these factions do not want to stop the bloodshed, but want to regroup and attack again.

Dawson believes that the US is not fighting terrorism, but rather waging a false war of terrorism, noting that Washington aids Daesh and al-Qaeda. In an interview with Radio Sputnik, Dawson said that things are going to change in the near future.

“You have seen this in history especially in Vietnam when the war becomes so profitable to so many industries. The Middle East is detrimental for the US to keep its hegemony by preventing any rival oil pipe lines from being built which is precisely what kick started this conflict,” Dawson said.

He went on to explain, “There was a $10 billion pipeline project signed between Iraq, Iran and Syria just months after the US was forced to pull out of Iraq and then this crisis kicked off in Syria in very fishy circumstances where you had these rebels firing on the police. If the US really wanted to resolve the conflict then why would they be aiding al-Qaeda and ISIS? This isn’t just some sort of incompetence.”

According to Dawson, the former Defense Intelligence Agency Director, Michael Flynn, admitted that the agenda of the US was to aid the Salafist groups to tear Syria apart. “If you look at the list of the top defense industries like Lockheed Martin and also the mercenary groups, not just the US but also some British groups as well, they are making billions of dollars and they have a very tight relationship with the US mass media. They have overlapping membership in their board of directors.”
