Fears of ISIS using the refugee crisis as a means to infiltrate Europe and America are rising in the wake of a new report that it may have “tens of thousands” of stolen, blank passports at its disposal.
The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, citing Western intelligence sources, said the bogus travel documents could have been obtained in ISIS-controlled areas of Syria, Iraq and Libya. The report said ISIS can utilize these passports to pose as asylum seekers.
Germany has opened its doors to Syrian refugees, triggering a mass flight to that nation. Fake Syrian passports were used by two of the Paris suicide bombers. President Obama has begun implementing his controversial plan to bring Syrian refugees to the United States, a plan many oppose on the grounds that the U.S. cannot adequately vet the background of these refugees for terrorism.
