Video: Liberals Support Bringing in Refugees, Then Refuse to House Any Refugees
‘Virtue signaling’ leftists are actually less charitable than conservatives

New York liberals are outraged at more than half of the nation’s Governors saying no to an Obama administration plan to accept 100,000 “refugees,” but when asked if they would personally house a refugee, almost all refused to do so.
RT’s Lori Harnifest hit the streets of Washington Square Park in New York City to ask residents what they thought of opposition from Governors to the White House’s refugee proposal.
“I think they all ought to go read the Statue of Liberty,” responded one man.
When Harnifest handed him a form and said, “You’re signing up to house some refugees,” he immediately shot back, “I’m not going to be able to do that.”
“Everyone in this country has been a refugee,” another younger man enthusiastically proclaimed.
His enthusiasm waned somewhat when he was handed the form to personally house one.
Another man expressed support for bringing in the refugees but then complained that his studio apartment wasn’t suitable.
“A studio apartment’s better than another winter in the desert,” responded Harnifest.
“Erm, I don’t know if I would do that,” retorted the man.
What we’re seeing in this video is a specialty of ‘progressives’ and leftists – virtue signaling.
Virtue signaling is when someone expresses an opinion or support for a minority group not because they genuinely care or plan on doing anything about it, but merely to obtain social brownie points from their liberal friends.
In reality, studies show that despite how much liberals bleat on about how caring and humanitarian they are, conservatives are significantly more generous when it comes to charity.
