NHS facing ‘national meltdown’ as hospitals run out of money to pay doctors…(Ain’t Socialism Grand!!)

THE NHS is on its knees as the health service is set to reveal the largest deficit in its history amid fears it faces a catastrophic national “meltdown”.

It plans to reveal a whopping £1.5bn deficit and experts warn that many hospitals will run out of money to pay staff wages as soon as next year.

The drastic warning also reveals “every hospital in the country is struggling”.

Watchdogs have already warned that the NHS is in the worst financial position “in a generation”.

Jim Mackey, chief executive of NHS Improvement, added that the deficit is set to soar to £2bn by the end of the financial year.

Mr Mackey, who serves as the head of the regulator for hospitals, said the bleak figures were “awful” and could have deadly consequences.
