U.S. Homeland Security had predicted possible major ISIS attacks against Western cities six months ago, even singling out the man believed to be the brains behind Friday’s attack in Paris.

The ominous premonitions were made in an intelligence assessment published by the Department of Homeland Security’s Intelligence & Analysis directorate in partnership with the FBI and the National Counterterrorism Center in May this year.

It name-checks Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the 27-year-old Belgian believed to be the mastermind of the attacks, and one of the suspects targeted in an early-morning raid in a Parisian suburb Wednesday.
