Weapons have been stolen from an Army base following a break-in just 24 hours after the deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

The firearms went missing from the armory at the Lincoln Army Reserve Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Saturday night after the suspects entered the building through the roof.

Descriptions of the missing weapons have been entered into the National Crime Information Center, an online database searchable by law enforcement.

It means if police around the country recover the guns, they will be alerted.

However, details of the weapons that were taken have not been released to the public.

The break-in was first made public during a press conference with Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.

He told the media the break-in was not related to any specific terrorist threat.

During the press conference, Baker also said police would remain vigilant in the wake of the attacks in Paris that left 129 dead and more than 350 wounded.

He added that Homeland Security based in Boston would be monitoring any suspicious activity closely.
