Whether it fills you with joy or dread, the first day of snowfall is now approaching for many people across the US.

This is despite Eastern US experiencing an usually warm November, due in a large part to El Niño weather system.

To help you prepare, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has mapped its prediction for when you will see snow in your area.

Coloured dots show the date by which there’s a 50 per cent chance that at least 0.1 inch of snow will have fallen, based on each location’s snowfall history from 1981-2010.
