One thousand employees at Caterpillar’s Global Information Services (GIS) were laid off, including 250 that took the early retirement package, reports PJ Star.
GIS employees were reportedly escorted out of Caterpillar’s Mossville, Ill., facility.
Caterpillar Group President and CFO Brad Halverson noted last week that 2,100 Caterpillar employees elected to take early retirement and that the company would cut another 1,000 jobs.
