Throughout recent history experts have continued to warn that California is overdue for “The Big One,” and while advanced technology still cannot predict exact dates, it hasn’t stopped some experts from trying and while those date setters have been wrong, their predictions, their studies, and their determination that portions of California will be “toast” when it does occur, are all similar because according to historical data….. it is going to happen.

In September it was Professor David Schwartz, president of the Seismological Association Harvard University who issued a red alert to the United States Geological Survey predicting a massive Earthquake would hit the territory of North America. His prediction was for the end of September and while that never materialized on the dates he believed it would, the research showing the San Andreas Fault and the Cascadia subduction zone now have the same levels of stress that led to the great MEGATERRE MOTO happened in 1700, still applies.

Also in September 2015, after the 8.3 magnitude earthquake hit Chile, a chilling statement was made by FEMA director Kenneth Murphy about the vulnerabilities for cities along the West Coast if the Cascadia fault line gets stoked by the earthquake, leading to the worst disaster, as he asserted “Our operating assumption is that everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast. This is one time that I’m hoping all the science is wrong, and it won’t happen for another thousand years.”

“While this area is susceptible to a lot of danger, scientists are clear that we can take some measures to address it.”OSSPAC estimates that in the I-5 corridor it will take between one and three months after the earthquake to restore electricity, a month to a year to restore drinking water and sewer service, six months to a year to restore major highways, and eighteen months to restore health-care facilities. It’s a major fault line. It’s going to produce a very major earthquake. The response to that should not be blind panic or obliviousness. You’re better off being prepared than sticking your head in the sand,” said Kathryn Schulz, journalist and writer of “The Really Big One,” according to KGW.
