Activist groups are irate over what they perceive as the latest attack on the family emanating from a recent ad for Campbell’s Soup of all places.

In a TV ad campaign showcasing their Star Wars themed line of soups, the company featured two real life gay dads feeding their real life son.

The ad shows a man feeding a toddler while quoting the famous line from Star Wars, “I am your father.”

“No, no, no, I am your father,” another man stepping into frame says.

According to a press release, the ad is meant as a reflection of “the modern American family.”

“This campaign holds a mirror up to the modern American family, because we know that people respond to brands that understand them and show life how it is, in all its glorious and joyous imperfections,” Campbell’s Marketing Activation Vice President Yin Woon Rani said.

“We wanted to show actual families, which means families of different configurations, cultures, races and life choices,” Rani said. “The American family is changing faster than at any time in recent history and it is now a true mosaic of shapes and sizes, all bonded through love, and love of good food.”

The pro-family group One Million Moms, funded by the American Family Association, says the ad glorifies gay marriage and “aims to change the face of the American family.”
