The father of one of the shooting victims in Oregon gave an impassioned account of what happened inside the classroom at Umpqua Community College yesterday, according to his daughter, expressing disbelief that the gunman had as much time as he did to execute students.
The father and brother of Anastasia Boylan, who was seriously wounded in the mass shooting, recounted what Anastasia had told them right as she was heading into emergency spinal surgery.
Mr Boylan noted that his daughter verified other accounts that the shooter specifically targeted Christians.
“‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them. And ‘if you’re a Christian, stand up.’ And they would stand up. And he said, ‘good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second.’ And then shot and killed them.” Boylan noted, adding that the professor of the class was the first person killed immediately when the gunman entered.
Mr Boylan questioned why the shooter had so much time before he was stopped.
Boylan was clearly upset and utterly confused as to why the shooter was able to go down a line of people, asking questions about their religion and reloading the gun after killing people.
