A retired Army Sgt. has further revealed that US military intelligence reports regarding terrorist activity in Iraq are being fundamentally manipulated and changed in order to fit with more positive public statements made by the Obama administration.

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class William Kotel told the Washington Examiner that intelligence has been “grossly thrown to the side” by higher ups within U.S. Central Command (Centcom), dating back to the alleged killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011.

According to the report, Kotel claims he was forced out of CENTCOM after raising a red flag on “missing pieces” that were removed from intelligence reports.

Kotel specifically pointed to an official report he wrote which contained information regarding an Iraqi target who had overseen an operation to steal U.S. money from the Central Bank of Iraq.

Kotel claims that the intelligence was removed from his final report by senior officials.

Kotel also suggests that warnings regarding imminent terror attacks in Iraq were not acted on immediately, or communicated to military stationed there, but instead subjected to a lengthy bureaucratic process within the Pentagon, sometimes taking weeks to be processed.

The retired Sgt. also told reporters that he and his colleagues were given “implied orders” not to report facts on the ground in Iraq regarding terrorist activity. Instead, they were encouraged to substitute economic or environmental information for terror related intelligence, according to the report.
