Senior US Administration official stated that US President Barack Obama approved the allocation of $75 million in Department of Defense European Reassurance Initiative funds to provide additional non-lethal equipment to Ukraine.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US President Barack Obama approved the allocation of $75 million in Department of Defense European Reassurance Initiative funds to provide additional non-lethal equipment to Ukraine, a senior US Administration official told journalists.

“While we continue to believe that there is no military resolution to this crisis, Ukraine has the right to defend itself. As part of our ongoing efforts to bolster Ukraine’s defense and internal security operations and resist further aggression, we will provide to Ukraine $75 million in additional non-lethal defensive security assistance,” the official said.
