Mainstream media says it’s okay when newscasters repeatedly lie; must be judged on ‘different standard’

With one of their own on the chopping block for lying to the public, mainstream media pundits Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe program, have suddenly become devout Bible scholars. The duo recently came out in defense of shamed NBC News anchor Brian Williams, claiming that he should be held to a “different standard” from everyone else, presumably because of his celebrity status.
According to CNS News, Brzezinski believes that Williams “is one of the few people on the face of the earth who is held to a different standard” from everyone else. Scarborough, her colleague, agrees, having added that everyone makes “bad mistakes” and that Williams’ career shouldn’t be marked by “one or two or three mistakes.”
“I’m just hopeful — because I can’t be objective here — I’m hopeful that when all of the madness on Twitter, and all of the madness online, and all of the madness that’s going on right now — the investigations that need to be going on, we’re not saying they don’t need to be going on,” stated Scarborough.
“That when the fury dies down, and when we get through the storm and the decision is made to judge what Brian Williams’ future should be — that that decision will be based on the entirety of his career, and not on one or two or three mistakes.”
