Dallas: Public health officials in the United States face an anxious wait, saying it will take at least a month to eliminate the risk of Ebola exposure caused by a Liberian patient in critical condition with the first US-based case of the deadly virus.
The condition of Texas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan deteriorated on Saturday, and health officials said they are watching 49 people in the Dallas area who may have had contact with him for symptoms of the deadly disease.
It has emerged that state and local health officials waited more than two days to perform blood tests that confirmed Mr Duncan had Ebola, a delay that appears to have violated federal guidelines.
