The World Health Organisation has warned West African countries that border Ebola hit Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, to prepare for the possibility of infected people crossing shared frontiers.

Those include the Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal and Guinea Bissau.

It comes after Doctors without Borders said Ebola is out of control in West Africa.

WHO’s Regional Director for Africa Luis Sambo this week called for drastic action to halt what he said has turned into a cross-border crisis.

The outbreak is already the deadliest since Ebola first emerged in central Africa in 1976, and the number of infections continues to rise.
