BREAKING
A Mortar Shelling hit the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Sunday, injuring three. The Main building did not seem to be hit directly, though. The Russian Foreign Ministry and Syria’s authorities are taking measures to ensure additional security.
“On the morning of September 22, as a result of mortar shelling in the Damascus Mazraa district, one of the shells exploded on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Syria,” said Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement adding that the three injured employees do not have life-threatening conditions.
Reports state that the embassy is working under normal conditions, after the attack. This is not the first time Mortars have been fired into populated section of Damascus, in fact the Rebels have done this multiple times.
Russia is an ardent support of Assad’s Regime, so the mortaring of a Russian Embassy could have been intentional.
